HTC One Android 4.2, JellyBean Update Still Coming, Delays Explained
The HTC One Android 4.2, JellyBean update is still coming, according to the smartphone maker, who confirmed its imminent release this week.
HTC issued a statement to Engadget, who inquired about it being delayed as it was originally expected to be rolled out in the beginning of this month. The company basically said that HTC One users will have to wait just a little longer.
Android 4.2 is expected to make some changes to the device's software including the addition of a percentage battery notifier near the battery symbol, the ability to remove dock icons, changes to the app drawer, the ability to long press the home button to bring the menu, and an extended quick settings set.

The update should arrive sometime before the end of this month.
The HTC One smartphone can be purchased though Wirefly for just $49.99.
The site is currently offering the Sprint version of the device for less than half the normal on-contract price. The deal is being offered with a new two-year agreement that includes 450 minutes at $39.99 per month. The price is only available to those who are looking to open a new account or add a new line to their existing one. It will also come with a $25 Google Play store gift card which could be used to purchase movies games and music.
The HTC One Mini release date is rumored for August, according to a new report from Bloomberg.
The publication claims to have received this information from two informants who wish to remain anonymous. One of the sources also confirmed that the new smartphone will ship with a lower-resolution screen and a less powerful processor than the larger model.
Rumored specifications for the HTC One Mini include a Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 4-megapixel camera using HTC's UltraPixel technology. The screen on the smartphone will measure in at 4.3-inches in comparison to the 4.7-inch display found on the original version.
