HTC One Gold Model Coming Soon: Photo Leaks
A gold HTC One model should be launching sometime in the near future.
Pictures of the device were posted to the Internet earlier this month showing off the handset sporting the new color. Engadget claims to have received the photos from a reliable source. This same source leaked pictures of the blue variant that is now available through Best Buy.
The company appears to be gearing up to compete with Apple who recently unveiled its new gold iPhone 5s. Despite the impressive hardware on the smartphone, it has been difficult for HTC to catch up to competitors such as Samsung with the One in terms of sales.
The blue HTC One is being offered exclusively through Best Buy and can be purchased through 3 major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. T-Mobile has not confirmed if it would be carrying the new version.
Customers can purchase the blue HTC One for $49.99 with a new two-year contract. Sprint currently offers the device for $99.99 with a contract and AT&T sells it for $149.99 so Best Buy's offer is easily the best for those looking to purchase the device.
Specs on the HTC One include a 4.7-inch full HD display, a 1.7GHz Snapdrahon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of storage, 4G LTE support and an Ultrapixel camera.
The Android 4.3, JellyBean update for the handset will be coming to U.S. users very soon.
There will be two waves of the update with the first coming with Sense 5, according to a tweet from @LlabTooFer.
This same account claims the Sense 5.5 update will not roll out until after the HTC T6, also known as the HTC One Max rolls out later this month.
Those in the international market will receive Sense 5.5 with Android 4.3 right away, according to the report.
