HTC One Max to Feature a Fingerprint Sensor, Picture Surfaces
The HTC One Max could feature a fingerprint sensor.
An image leaked this week showing the HTC One line including the One, One mini and One Max. A small black square appears beneath the camera module on the One Max which the site that posted the picture claims is a fingerprint sensor.
There are also a few contacts on the bottom right side of the Max that could be some sort of dock connecter.
The only other device rumored to feature a fingerprint sensor at this time is the upcoming iPhone 5S or iPhone 6. HTC might be trying to beat Apple to the punch.
The HTC One Max release date could be set for Q4 of 2013.
The company's Chief Marketing Officer Ben Ho confirmed yesterday that HTC is working on a variant of the One without mentioning that is was the Max model. He also stated that HTC will focus on fewer products this year in order to correct the confusion they caused in 2012.
Ho stated that the company would launch "two to three mid-tier Desire-branded phones" by the end of the year, as well as "a variant of the flagship One series in the fourth quarter." This variant will most likely be the One Max.
The HTC One Max specs were revealed in a new report.
The new phablet device will feature a 5.9-inch display with 1920x1080 resolution, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor which clocks in at 2.3GHz, 2GB RAM, a 4-ultrapixel camera, Boomsound dual front-facing stereo speakers, and a 3,3000 mAh non-removable Li-poly battery, according to Android Police.
New pictures of the device also surfaced last week revealing the overall look of the One Max. It basically looks like a larger version of the HTC One with the same display and speaker layout. It also features the same body type and color scheme.
