HTC One Mini Android 4.4.2, KitKat Update Now Rolling Out on AT&T
The Android 4.4.2, KitKat update is rolling out for the HTC One Mini on AT&T.
It features Sense 5.5. The recently introduced Sense 6.0 will not reach the mini model until the summer of this year.
Changes made to the software include improved user interface, a phone dialer app, more advanced Caller ID, a new version of the HTC BlinkFeed app, new copy and paste options, new e-mail interface, camera access from the lock screen, music control from the lock screen, immersive viewing and a new clock interface.
This will be a staged roll out so it could take a few days to reach the device. Those who haven't received a notification could check the Settings menu for it. The update weighs in at 658MB. Users will want to be on Wi-Fi before downloading it.
The HTC One Mini comes equipped with a 4.3-inch high-definition display, 16GB of internal storage, a 4-megapixel rear camera, a 1.6-megapixel front camera, a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.2.2, JellyBean and an 1800mAh non-removable battery.
The device also comes with the same BoomSound capabilities as the original version.
"The HTC One revolutionized the smartphone audio experience with HTC BoomSound's dual frontal stereo speakers. Powered by dedicated amplifiers to deliver less distortion and finer detail, the HTC One mini offers the same huge sound, delivering the raw power that will put you and your friends at the heart of the action, whether listening to music, watching videos or playing games," wrote the HTC in a press release.
The device also features HTC's Blinkfeed, which puts all of the user's favorite content onto their homepage so it is extremely easy for them to access.
The ultrapixel camera features HTC Zoe and Video Highlights. Zoe allows the owner to create three-second videos and Video Highlights automatically films 30-second shows from footage and pictures a user takes.
