HTC One Released: Smartphone Makes it to Retailers After a Month of Delays
The HTC One smartphone has finally been released after around a month of delays.
The device was originally due out a month ago. HTC had originally hoped to beat the Galaxy S4 to the market, however, due to issues with camera components, their releases have been brought much closer together.
The HTC One features an all-metal unibody. It also sets a new standard for specifications in the smartphone market as it comes with a Snapdragon 1.7GHz processor, LTE, NFC, 1080 x 1920 display and full 1080p video recording. The device can be purchased through various retailers including Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, Target, Amazon.com, Costo, Car Toys, and Sam's Club.
The HTC One will launch on T-Mobile on April 24. The carrier confirmed the April 24 availability date this week on its Twitter account. The announcement is specifically for the LTE version of the HTC One, which will help excite T-Mobile customers about its new LTE network.
T-Mobile will offer the HTC One for $99 down, with the rest of the price being paid off on a monthly plan. Sprint's model is expected to cost $199.99 with a new 2-year contract.
The HTC One on AT&T will also cost $199.99 with a new 2-year contract, according to the company.
This is the price for the 32GB model of the device, according to Engadget. The AT&T exclusive 64GB version will end up costing a bit more and will take a little more time to be released.
After some issues with components, HTC had to push back the device's release in order to meet customer demand. And even with those problems, the HTC One was still able to stir up a huge buzz throughout the U.S., according to the company.
