HTC Prepping New 'Zeta' and 'Edge' Smartphones?
Cellphone maker HTC is rumored to be developing a new smartphone device, codenamed the "Zeta."
Technology website Engadget first reported on this new rumored device from HTC. The Zeta will reportedly come with a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 4.5-inch HD display, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and 32 GB of internal storage. A 1,830 mAh battery is also said to be a part of the HTC Zeta.
It is said to be running on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and can be fully compatible with Dr. Dre Beat Audio and Bluetooth 4.0. The Sense user interface may also come pre-loaded on this new smartphone.
The dimensions of the Zeta measure out to 4.32-inches by 2.4-inches by 0.39-inches. It weighs 5.15 ounces.
Engadget came upon some images of the smartphone as well. The Zeta sports a curved, unibody back. The band on the back appears to be brushed aluminum.
The HTC Zeta now stands as the second-leaked device from the company.
PocketNow previously broke the news on HTC's "Edge" smartphone. The Edge features a 4.7-inch display with 720p HD resolution, 8-megapixel camera with a backlit sensor and 28-millimeter, f/2.2 lens.
This device is also reported to have 1 GB of RAM and it measures about 0.4-inches thick. An Nvidia Tegra 3 processor that accounts for the 1.5GHz quad-core processing prowess will power it.
The HTC Edge will reportedly be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as well.
Compared to the Zeta, the Edge comes with a slightly larger screen display.
No official price or release date has been unveiled regarding both smartphones. Some industry analysts said these devices could see a potential launch date of 2012.
No comment has been given by HTC, so far.
