HTC to Unveil Quad-core Endeavor at Mobile World Congress
Smartphone manufacturer HTC is expected to unveil its new quad-core Endeavor handset just before this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, according to a report from Economic Daily News.
"HTC will unveil Endeavor on February 26, one day before the opening of the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona," wrote the publication.
The device will be announced on Feb. 26, just one day before Mobile World Congress begins.
The HTC Endeavor will be one of the first quad-core smartphones to hit the market beating other manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung to the punch.
Specifications on the Endeavor include a 1.5GHz Tegra 3 based Quad-Core processor, 4.7-inch 720p HD screen, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
Other features expected to be on the device include Beats by Dr. Dre audio experience along with the HTC Sense 4.0 user interface.
The first reports indicating an Endeavor launch around MWC 2012 originated from a publication known as MoDaCo who said that HTC would announce it during the event.
This same publication also leaked the specs for the quad-core smartphone.
9to5 Google recently commented on HTC's move to release a device with a quad-core processor and its decision to partner up with Nvidia.
"HTC's move to Nvidia from Qualcomm for processing power is definitely interesting, wrote the site."HTC has been with Qualcomm exclusively for as long as I can remember, but Nvidia's processors should definitely do the job for HTC."
The site also commented on other device manufacturers following in HTC's footsteps.
"HTC will most likely not be the only manufacturer announcing a partnership with Nvidia at MWC," wrote 9to5 Google.
Apple's next iPhone along with the Samsung Galaxy S3 are rumored to possibly be including quad-core processors.
