HTC U Ocean Specs: Touch Sensitive Frame, No Headphone Jack
HTC is looking to refresh its newly unveiled HTC U lineup with a device codenamed the HTC Ocean, which is the subject of the latest leaks that hit the web.
Renders of the device show a dark red color for this new handset. It also sports a flat display instead of a curved one, which is what the previous leaks showcased.
The images do make it seem that the new HTC U device will ditch the 3.5 mm headphone jack, much like Apple's iPhone 7, and will instead be adorned solely with a USB-C port on the bottom.

A home button is nowhere to be found although dual speakers can be seen in the renders. Android Headlines believes that the actual HTC U will not look exactly as it does in these images.
The publication notes the renders do not show a fingerprint scanner as well as physical buttons, all of which are expected to take some space in the HTC U Ocean.
In another leak, the HTC device boasted a feature called the Edge Sense, which comes in the form of a touch-sensitive frame that triggers additional controls and features depending on the pressure of the user's presses or squeezes on the screen.
Even when the HTC U Ocean is off, users can reportedly still activate apps like the Google Assistant or the camera based on the level of pressure.
On the imaging department, the HTC U Ocean will reportedly come with a HDR+ feature for better photo-taking experience. Previous reports reveal a 12 MP rear camera and a16 MP selfie snapper.
Other purported specifications and features of the HTC device include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor accompanied by 6 GB RAM and 64 GB expandable storage.
The HTC U Ocean is also expected to don the Sense 9 interface on top of the Android 7.1 Nougat as well as four microphones with USonic technology for better audio quality. Users can enjoy all this for long hours, thanks to its 3,000 mAh battery.
The HTC U Ocean is slated to be unveiled during the second half of the month.
