Huawei Launches $69 Band 2 Pro Fitness Tracker With GPS, Heart Rate and Sleep Monitoring Features

Chinese electronics manufacturer Huawei has recently launched the Band 2 Pro fitness tracker in the United States, and not only is it priced $69, but it also comes with some of the most in-demand features.

Huawei first announced the fitness tracker in July. This month, it made its way to the U.S. and can be purchased through Amazon.

On the surface, the Band 2 Pro sports a very conventional design comparable to earlier fitness trackers from Fitbit. However, the features and technical specifications it has make it a product worth checking out on top of its $69 price tag.

For the said amount, the Band 2 Pro is packed with an independent global positioning system that owners would find highly useful in tracking their fitness activities without the need to bring their smartphones. Added to that, the device is rated with a 5 ATM water resistance feature, which means it can take on getting submerged in 50-meter deep water.

The Band 2 Pro is also designed with a continuous heart rate monitoring feature that, according to Huawei, "shares accurate heart rate data and personalized suggestions for staying healthy."

The Band 2 Pro is also equipped with Huawei's TruSleep technology that can help its owners to comprehensively monitor their sleeping patterns. The company promised that this will enable the device to track not just the user's light, deep and REM sleeps – the feature is also able to record sleep interruptions.

The recently released device also comes with the feature called Professional Run Coach which the users can customize based on their specific training and running program. The Band 2 Pro is also equipped with Relaxation Training that can remind the user of proper breathing techniques.

Meanwhile, on top of the health and fitness-related features, the Band 2 Pro also supports basic smartwatch functions such as receiving smart notifications to alert the user of any incoming calls, emails, alarms from their smartphone.

With a 105-milliampere hour battery, Huawei claimed the Band 2 Pro can last up to "seven days of continuous use on a single charge or 21 days on standby."

Band 2 Pro can be connected to devices running on Android 4.4 or higher and iOS 8.0 or later through Bluetooth.
