Huawei Mate S vs. iPhone 6s: Which one is the copycat?
Huawei has taken a jab at Apple's newly unveiled iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus by revealing its own rose gold–colored smartphone in the form of the new Mate S.
It is interesting to note that both the Huawei Mate S and Apple iPhone 6s have the Force Touch feature incorporated in their own flagship phones. Apple has recently revealed that its new iPhones will have four color variants including rose gold — a color that Huawei allegedly adopted for its new Mate S smartphone, according to the International Business Times.
While rose gold was previously specific to the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Huawei has mocked this by launching the Huawei Mate S in different colors including rose gold. In contrast to Apple's design that only has the said color in an undertone, Huawei boasted that its Mate S comes in that color tone "from head to toe," the report relays.
Huawei now ranks third among the biggest mobile phone makers in the world and has made headlines recently for its new devices, some of which bear significant similarities to Apple's own units, Vine Report states.
Aside from the physical build, Huawei's Mate S also has other external internal specs that are similar to the iPhone 6s. One of these is its 5.5-inch screen with a full-HD resolution of 1080p. The Force Touch technology, which allows users to customize commands with a long press or tap, is also present in both devices. While Huawei calls this feature "3D touch" technology, Apple calls it "3D Touch."
When it comes to the cameras, the Huawei Mate S sports a 13-megapixel rear snapper with optical image stabilization. The iPhone 6s has a 12-megapixel rear camera with the same optical image stabilization feature.
Even the price of the two rival devices is almost similar. Both the Huawei Mate S and the iPhone 6s cost around $908, which is an unusually large price tag for the Chinese smartphone.
