Huawei to Unveil New Honor Device, Event to Take Place Next Week
Huawei fans are on the constant lookout for any updates on the rumored device that the Chinese giant is unveiling. Everyone is expecting the flagship Mate 8 smartphone any time soon but it appears like the company has been preparing to launch a different device first, according to reports. There are rumors that Huawei might announce the Honor 7 Plus, which is reportedly equipped with a sliding camera, giving it a unique design and appearance among the same series.
Apparently, Huawei has been sending out invitations already for an Honor event on Aug. 10, reports GizChina. Aside from the date and the word "Honor", the invitation does not offer a lot of details. There is also a picture of a big exclamation mark to it that could mean that something exciting is going to be unveiled.
There are also leaked images of a new Honor phone with a model number ATH-ALoo that has surfaced after it has reportedly received TENAA certification, reports GSM Arena. When a smartphone passes TENAA, it could mean that its release date can be any time soon.
In the leaked images, it can be seen that the two cameras of the new Honor phone will be positioned together on the same sliding module. This pop-up camera provide high resolution snappers on both ends, both accompanied by dual-LED dual tone flashes. Also, through this unique design, it will let users take photos with the rear camera with no effort. For a selfie shot, the assembly will likely need to be pushed upwards, which means the front display is free of a camera unit until the user will use it.
Other speculations of the new Honor series include coming with up to 4GB of RAM, dual-sim functionality and will be powered by Kirin processor, Huawei's proprietary. Of course, these remain to be rumors though. Fans of the China-based device will have to watch out for more during the official launching.
