Police reported that she had bruises and red marks on her body following the incident.

Marston, 20, admitted that he and Sinclair, 20, had gotten into an argument, but denied hitting her.

Despite his denial, Marston was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and released on $20,000 bail hours after the arrest.

Sources say that Sinclair called her family to inform them of what happened, and they, in turn, called the authorities.

Marston and Sinclair started their on-and-off relationship in Aug. 2010.

The domestic dispute made waves on Twitter as users posted their reactions to the news.

"How do you think she got PMOY in the 1st place?" said TV agent and Twitter user Michah of Sinclair's 2011 Playmate of the Year position.

"What?!" Wrote Kimberly on the social media site, while GlobalGrind wrote, "C'mon Man!"

Laurie added, "Why am I not surprised?"

The arrest of Marston and charges against will likely lead to a court hearing in the near future.

His mother, 1988 Playmate of the Year Kimberly Conrad, was married to Hugh Hefner from 1989 and 2010.

Hefner and his son share the same birthday on April 9.

In a past interview, Marston admitted that relationships are difficult for him considering who his father is.

"My, like, expectancy for what girl I'm going to get it like, so f----- up, I've just been around really hot women my entire life, so the average high school girl won't do it for me," the then-18-year-old told GQ magazine.
