Hulk Hogan Tape: FBI to Meet With Wrestler Who Promises 'Someone Will Pay' (VIDEO)
Hulk Hogan is reportedly taking the leak of his sex tape to higher authorities after discovering the local police can do nothing to prosecute the person responsible for making the film public.
Hulk Hogan is looking to ensure that those responsible for the leaking of a private tape revealing an intimate encounter between Hogan and his friend, Bubba the Love Sponges', former wife, Heather Clem, are punished. It was initially believed that Hogan's best friend, Bubba, might have leaked the video. He is seen at the end of the film telling Clem that the footage could be worth a lot of money, according to TMZ.
After hearing the news, Hogan was more than ready to discard the friendship.
"If you had anything to do with this, that means we were never friends," he said according to TMZ.
But Bubba was later cleared from the accusations. During an interview on the Howard Stern show, Hogan appeared confident that his friend was not involved. Left without a culprit, Hogan decided to take the case to police. "Someone will pay," he said, according to TMZ.
But the police suggested that there was nothing they could do about it. The film was allegedly shot in 2006, two years beyond the four-year statute of limitations, meaning that charges could not be pressed.
The matter of the video being leaked crosses state lines which potentially makes it a federal issue.
"As a result, Hulk's lawyer says he has contacted the FBI to track down the sex tape leaker ... and bring that person to justice," TMZ reported.
Hogan allegedly has plans to meet with members of the FBI on Monday.
