Newly engaged Hollywood couple Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are preparing for their 2015 wedding and are currently facing the awkward dilemma of whether to invite Somerhalder's ex, Nina Dobrev to the occasion.
"The Vampire Diaries" actor, Ian Somerhalder and his fiancée, "Twilight" star, Nikki Reed are set to tie the knot this year and have been making plans to include "The Vampire Diaries" cast and crew in their special day. One thing that may be holding them back is the fact that Somerhalder's ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev happens to be part of that group.
Faced with a guest list predicament, the couple are attempting to find a way to mitigate the situation to make the situation as painless as possible.

"It's a very weird predicament for Ian and Nikki," an insider allegedly close to the couple told Hollywood Life in an interview. "If it is a big wedding Ian feels that he has to ask Nina to go, but anticipates her to respectfully decline. That would be a win win."
However, Somerhalder, 36, and Reed, 26, are yet unsure whether Dobrev will accept or decline the invitation. The ex-couple have been reported to have had a strained relationship since they broke up, and even in recent months were the target of reports saying they were not on speaking terms on "The Vampire Diaries" set. This has raised the awkwardness of the circumstances even more.
One insider has suggested the couple opt for an intimate wedding involving only immediate family members to cop out of having to invite the cast and crew members of the popular CW supernatural drama.
Somerhalder and Reed started dating in 2014 before announcing their engagement February this year, as soon as Reed's divorce from singer-songwriter, Paul McDonald was finalized in January.
Somerhalder, meanwhile, ended his relationship with his 26-year-old "The Vampire Diaries" co-star, Nina Dobrev in May 2013. It was speculated that the Bulgarian-Canadian actress, who plays Elena Gilbert on the supernatural TV series, did not take the news of the engagement well.
