Ice Cream Sandwich Release Date: First Smartphone with Android 4.0 Leaks
Samsung is expected to drop the Galaxy Nexus smartphone by the end of this month, but with constant delays and no official release date set, other handset makers are already creating devices running on Ice Cream Sandwich.
Ice Cream Sandwich is supposed to launch on the Galaxy Nexus and was revealed at the “Mobile Unpacked” event last month.
However, before that happens, Pocket-Now received a device that might be manufactured by LG running Ice Cream Sandwich.
This handset also supports a Mophie Juice Battery pack. Pocket-Now displayed a picture of the smartphone on its site.
“This picture is literally a mystery wrapped in a conundrum: we know nothing about the phone depicted here, nor why it would seem to be the first non-Apple product bequeathed with a Mophie Juice Pack battery case,” wrote the Pocket-Now.
The website describes the device as looking quite similar to the LG Optimus Hub, because both of their button rows are nearly identical.
“Plus, the screenshot (whose date doesn’t fall this year) shows it running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich,” Pocket-Now added.
However, judging from the image, no major conclusions can be made regarding what the device is or when it will come out.
The Mophie Juice pack would be a useful addition to Android smartphones, because the new ones will be running graphic intensive apps, according to technology website GizmoCrunch.
Galaxy Nexus should launch shortly after Black Friday and will be the flagship handset for Ice Cream Sandwich.
