Ice Cream Sandwich Updates Pushed Back for Verizon's Motorola Devices
Motorola announced today what devices would receive the official Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the near future.
"We are working very closely with Google and our carrier partners to bring you the best possible experience on each of our devices powered by Android," read the company's announcement. "This means ensuring that all upgrades and updates enhance device functionality and provide an overall improved experience."
That list included the Droid Razr, Droid Razr Maxx, Droid 4, Droid Bionic, Droid Xyboard 8.2, 10.1 and Motorola Xoom WiFi + 3G/4G. The company also communicated that more details on these products going Ice Cream Sandwich would be released at a later date.

Motorola also outlined the steps it is taking in order to make Ice Cream Sandwich on most of its high end devices a reality. The company broke it down into four phases including evaluation and planning, development, testing and available.
It also provided information on its site that said when the upgrades would begin rolling out.
Devices such as the Xoom Family Edition tablet will begin to receive the ICS update during the second quarter while owners of the Photon 4G, Atrix 4G and the non Verizon Xyboard 8.2 and 10.1 will get in during the third quarter.
Unfortunately for owners of high end Verizon devices in the U.S., there are no dates set for an ICS rollout on the Droid Razr, Droid Razr Maxx, Droid 4, Droid 3 and Droid Bionic, according to the announcement. This means those updates could arrive as late as the fourth quarter of next year.
However, Motorola does promise that they are coming sometime in the near future.
"During this process, we work to ensure that an upgrade is possible, and that it provides a satisfying experience," added Motorola in the announcement.
