Part of the deal that Trump and the Democrats are reportedly looking into is the agreement to fund the construction of the US-Mexico border in return for a possible citizenship approval for the young immigrants under the DACA program.

Trump also seemed to have confirmed the negotiations with the Democrats through a series of Twitter posts, saying that while there is no solid deal regarding the status of DACA. He implicated that the political party has to approve the budget for the massive border security first before he considers the consent to protect the young undocumented immigrants.

He also seemed to have softened his stand regarding the DACA participants, saying that it is a waste of talent to throw out several educated and accomplished young individuals who are currently employed and could be possibly serving the US military.

However, the conservatives were reportedly not pleased with the said negotiations. This made them put more pressure on the president's Republican buddies in the Congress.

The discussion that happened over dinner was clarified by a statement that was released by White House spokesperson Lindsay Walters, saying that Trump was not talking about giving the DACA participants amnesty.

"What the Trump administration will discuss is a responsible path forward in immigration reform, that could include legal citizenship over a period of time," Walters stated.
