In Potential Game Changer Gaddafi's 'Captured' Son Resurfaces Free (VIDEO)

Muammar Gaddafi’s son, Saif al-Islam, was yesterday reportedly captured by Libyan rebels that had advanced on the capital of Tripoli over the weekend; however, on Tuesday, Saif resurfaced free in the capital.

Less than 24-hours after his alleged capture, Saif came to the streets of Tripoli wearing a green t-shirt, thwarting rebel claims that he had been captured.

Saif used his presence to rally Gaddafi loyalists and to argue that the Western media has manipulated the dialog on Tripoli.

Saif told the press, “First of all, I am here to refute all the rumors and reports.”

He continued with, “NATO used its most suffocated technology to block all our communications, they sent text messages to the Libyan people, they interrupted our TV broadcasts, they waged an electronic media war against us to scare our people.”

Saif denied the success of the rebel advancement in Tripoli arguing, “You have seen how the Libyan people rose up yesterday and today and broke the back of the rebels, and the rats, and the gangs.”

He stated that he would be making his rounds to all the hot spots in Tripoli to defy rebel claims.

When asked about his impending ICC arrest, Saif responded, “Damn the Commission.”

Saif’s resurfacing demonstrates that the Libyan conflict is still unresolved and that the Gaddafi regime is not falling just yet, especially not without a vigorous fight.

Yesterday, although reports were surfacing of Gaddafi’s imminent removal of office, a NATO official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Washington Post, “We cannot drop our guard when we know Gaddafi has done things even in full retreat.”

Others agree with this assessment.

Dr. Franklin Lamb, director of Americans Concerned for Middle East Peace spoke to Russia Today yesterday from Benghazi and said of the situation in Tripoli, “What some people are suspecting here, and it's just speculation but I’m getting this feeling myself, as in other places, the government here is luring the rebels in, allowing them to have their fun at Green Square, and then very well may be counter attacking.”

He continued with, “There is clearly a resistance going on in pockets to the rebels. So while I would acknowledge that the end is probably coming, it’s not clear to me that has happened yet, and that there won’t be a serious counterattack. Only the hours coming will say.”
