Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck Ruled Out Against the Browns, May Not Play Against Seahawks

It appears that Andrew Luck is not going to suit up for the Indianapolis Colts this month.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has confirmed that the quarterback has been ruled out for their game against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday, and since he's not going to practice this week, he will likely miss their week four game against the Seattle Seahawks as well on Oct. 1.

"I guess when the doctors clear him to practice, he puts the red jersey on and you guys (the media) see him out there, I see him at the same time, then we'll know he's ready to go and start practicing," Pagano said, via the Colts' official website.

Luck will have to participate in practice first to get back in game shape before he plays in a game. The veteran quarterback hasn't been on the practice field ever since he underwent surgery earlier this year to repair the right shoulder that has been bothering him since the 2015 season.

With Luck on the sidelines, the Colts turned to Scott Tolzien at the start of the season. However, they ended up benching him in favor of Jacoby Brissett after his horrible performance against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Colts played much better against the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday, but they still couldn't walk away with a win at home.

They need Luck back on the field as soon as possible if they want to win some games, but Pagano thinks Brissett will continue to improve once he gets used to the plays they run.

"We'll just keep adding and giving him what we can give him. He's a smart guy. You know, he picks up things fast. It'll be good for everybody to be able to expand, especially in the situational stuff — once we get in the red area, third down," Pagano stated.
