'Injustice 2' DLC Release Date News: Fighter Pack 3 Reveal to Happen on Nov. 10; Hellboy Arriving on Nov. 14
Details for the next downloadable content (DLC) for "Injustice 2," Fighter Pack 3, will be revealed later this week.
Developer NetherRealm Studios' creative director Ed Boon announced on Twitter that the Fighter Pack 3 reveal video will be released during the Eleague "Injustice 2" World Championship on Friday, Nov. 10, at 10 p.m. EST on TBS.
Fighter Pack 3 will introduce three new characters for the DC Universe-populated video game. Only one fighter has been confirmed so far — Atom, whose mantle will be taken over by Ryan Choi following the mysterious disappearance of the original Atom Ray Palmer.
Ryan will be equipped with subatomic power via the quantum bio-belt. His main goals are to find Ray and fight for justice. The character will be arriving sometime in December.
As for the other two DLC characters, they are expected to arrive in January and February, respectively, but their identities are yet to be revealed.
Based on data mined from the "Injustice 2" beta on Steam, it's possible that one of the characters could be Celebrimbor from J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings."
According to ComicBook, the addition of the legendary Middle-earth Elf is possible because "Injustice 2," "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor" and "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" are all published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Thus, NetherRealm would have access to this particular character.
Another name found on the character leak was Alma; however, the name does not seem to call to mind anyone from the DC Universe. It's possible that Alma is just a codename for Atom or another character.
Other characters rumored to join "Injustice 2" via the Fighter Pack 3 are Constantine/Rorschach and Enchantress.
Meanwhile, the final character from the Fighter Pack 2, Hellboy, will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Players with Early Access will get first dibs while the rest of the community will be able to download the character starting Nov. 21.
Fighter Packs are priced $19.99 while individual characters can be purchased for $5.99 each.
"Injustice 2" is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Microsoft Windows PC version will be released on Nov. 14.
