'Injustice 2' Online Beta Characters News: Black Canary Added as Newest Playable Character
Before the week ends, the developers of "Injustice 2" added a playable character into the game's online beta.
"Injustice 2" is a new fighting video game from publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by NetherRealm Studios. The game is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while versions for the iOS and Android will also be released after the main game is launched.
According to reports, a DC Comics superheroine has been recently added to the online beta for "Injustice 2" this week. Players who were able to register with the online beta can get to play the character by downloading a beta update that comes in a 329.9 MB file size.
The superheroine, Black Canary, joins previously added characters in the online beta, namely Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Atrocitus and Blue Beetle.
Later in January, "Injustice 2" had a big week as it had one major announcement after another. Before the said month ended, developers released a new trailer, announced the addition of Darkseid to the roster and confirmed the opening of the game's online beta.
Unfortunately, as of writing, the online beta registration is unavailable.
As for the actual game release, more DC Comics heroes and villains were also earlier confirmed to be included in the title's roster, namely Aquaman, Gorilla Grodd, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Deadshot.
Earlier this year, "Injustice 2" was subjected to a release date information leak which suggested that the game would be released in late March this year. However, it was quickly denied by NetherRealm Studio boss Ed Boon through his official Twitter page, saying, "FYI: Injustice 2 is not coming out March 28."
Then, just a few days after the leak, the NetherRealm Studios official Twitter page announced the game's launch date, saying: "It's happening! The release date for Injustice 2 in the Americas!" The release date confirmation through social media was accompanied by a photo banner that carries the date May 16.
