Innovative Evangelists Pump Out More Evangelists
Evangelists and church leaders from around the world went into the Innovative Evangelism Conference to connect with like minds, soak in advice and come out impacting the world for Jesus Christ.
Luis Palau's Next Generation Alliance, with over 150 evangelists and ministries, is concluding its four-day conference today with 300 empowered attendants and at least one aspiring festival evangelist.
"My goal is to become a festival evangelist," said Aaron Taylor from Arnold, Mo., according to a news release. "I need to learn from people who are doing it and I'm obtaining lots of good advice here."
Evangelists of all styles from Australia, France, Canada, India, Malaysia and the United States gathered in Portland, Ore., to hear from renowned or long-time leaders like Palau, bestselling author Donald Miller, youth leader Greg Stier of Dare 2 Share Ministries and youth evangelist Jose Zayas.
"I love Luis preaching. Its practical! said Isaac Alexander from India. "I want to travel all over the world, be a blessing to people, and bring glory to the name of Jesus Christ.
Workshops addressed issues such as balancing family with ministry, principles of fundraising, Internet evangelism, and evangelistic opportunities and threats in contemporary culture.
"This is really great soil here. Im taking a lot home with me knowing how to work with other ministries and how to make them work," commented Shad Moore with Generation Alive from Spokane, Wash. "This conference is helping me help others.
The first national Next Generation Alliance conference was held in 2001 and has continued to gather evangelists yearly since then.
The Luis Palau Association and its 8-year-old Next Generation Alliance ministry have reached more than 11 million people and drawn more than 500,000 people to make decisions for Christ.
