Inside 'Duggarville:' 'Jim Bob is a dictator,' source says; Josh enters rehab
Following the scandals revolving around "19 Kids and Counting" reality star Josh Duggar, new statements have surfaced from sources regarding the lifestyle of the famous Duggar family off cam.
According to People, a source said Jim Bob, the clan's powerful patriarch, is actually the kind of father who exerts authority over his entire domain.
In this week's issue, the insider said, "Jim Bob's favorite word is 'no,'" adding that "He's like a dictator. He once saw a guy kissing a girl before marriage and confronted him about it. And the guy said, 'Jim Bob, show me that verse in the Bible that says we can't kiss. Get out your Bible.' And Jim Bob was like, 'Uhhhh ...' because no one ever confronts Jim Bob. No one."
Another sources said, "Jim Bob calls the shots. Always has and always will."
In line with the reality family's belief system, plus the fundamentals of Christian ideology called conservative patriarchy, the Duggars have been raised in the belief that sexuality and sex are taboo topics within the home.
Jim Bob has allegedly gone as far as shutting his kids from toys with batteries that made music "because he doesn't want his kids to dance or move their bodies."
In the 2014 book "Growing Up Duggar," the daughters shared how their family uses "Nike," a code word meant to help the men in the clan to shut down lustful thoughts each time an attractive lady passes by. It is said to be a signal to the boys and to their father to "drop their eyes and look down at their shoes" until everyone has walked past an attractive woman.
Meanwhile, a family statement in the Duggar family website released Wednesday revealed that the Ashley Madison-linked son, Josh, has checked himself into a long-term rehab facility.
The statement came a week after Josh, 27, called himself "the biggest hypocrite ever" in the wake of his account being busted in the Ashley-Madison leak.
