Meanwhile, the company has also designed the lower tier desktop processors with notable improvements. The 8th-gen Intel Core i3 and i5 variants will be known as the company's very first products of its kind with four and six cores, respectively.

Both the Core i3-8100 and i3-8350K were built with a 4-core and 4-thread process. The former runs at a base speed of 3.6 gigahertz while the latter is a tad faster at 4.0 GHz. Like previous i3 lineups, these do not have the capacity to overclock.

The 8th-generation Core i5-8400 and i5-8600K were designed with a 6-core, 6-thread process and will run with base clock speeds of 2.8 GHz and 3.6 GHz, respectively. The Core i5-8400 can overclock to 4.0 GHz while the latter up to 4.3 GHz.

Lastly, for heavy gamers and overclockers, the Core i7-8700 will run at 3.2 GHz to 4.6 GHz while its "K" series counterpart is more powerful with a base speed of 3.7 GHz. These can boost by up to 4.6 GHz and 4.7 GHz, respectively.

In terms of power boost, Intel promised that their new line of processors will perform with a 25 percent better frame rate performance compared to their predecessors from the Kaby Lake line. The leading chip maker also said that creative professionals can expect "65 percent faster editing ... compared with a 3-year-old machine."

Meanwhile, to maximize the power capacity of the new six-core processors from the 8th-gen Core lineup, the company has also launched the Intel Z370 chipset for "improved power delivery."

All the 8th-generation Core desktop processors will be released in the market on Thursday, Oct. 5.
