'Inuyashiki Last Hero' Episode 2 Spoilers: Middle-Aged Man Finds New Life in Death on Newest Superhero Anime Series
Ichiro Inuyashiki's life would have been ended by stomach cancer, but a chance encounter with an alien spaceship has given him a new lease on life on the Japanese action-sci-fi anime series, "Inuyashiki." However, the very thing that has given him a second chance at life may have also created the very person who will eventually destroy him.
At 58 years old, Ichiro's life was virtually on its final lap. And while a part of him has already accepted this as fact, the other part could not help but wish he could live longer and mean more than just a provider for his family. But he knew this was nothing more than pipe dreams, and he has thus chosen to keep his sickness from his wife and his teenage kids.
But things drastically changed for him when he was out on the field one night with his companion dog, Hanako. An alien spaceship seemed to have appeared at the wrong time and space and caused an explosion that killed Ichiro and a yet to be identified man. And in their hurry to make amends for killing two intelligent life-forms, the aliens made-do of what they had and re-constructed both men back to life with the stuff they got from their weapons system.
So, from a dying salaryman, the middle-aged Ichiro has now been turned into an advanced mechanical weapon on legs with a new mission in his second life. For Ichiro, Inuyashiki has just become the newest hero in town, with a penchant for taking bullies down.
How will Ichiro handle his life now that he feels more alive than he ever did before? Has his transformation effectively extended his life, or could he still be on his way to his eventual demise in a few months?
More importantly, how will his eventual first meeting with the other man who was killed and reconstructed by the aliens go? Will he be encountering his closest ally or fiercest enemy?
"Inuyashiki Last Hero" airs on Thursdays late night at 12:55 a.m. JST on Fuji TV's noitaminA anime block.
