iOS 6.1.4 Update Now Available for iPhone 5 Users

Apple has just rolled out the new iOS 6.1.4 update to iPhone 5 users.

The new software includes an updated speakerphone profile. There are also some bug fixes and security updates that come along with the new software, however, Apple did not confirm anything specifically.

The update is 11.5MB and can be downloaded directly and installed directly from the iPhone.

iOS 7 will be launching sometime in the near future and recent reports point to the software featuring a redesigned "flatter" interface and will lose all signs of gloss and shine.

The updated software will not be more difficult to use than the current iteration, according to a report from 9to5 Mac, who recently got to look at iOS 7. There will also be no new learning curve for those who are using the software for the first time.

iOS 7 looks a bit different, but its core apps and system fundamentals such as the Lock and Home screens will operate in the same way that they do on iOS 6.

The new version is currently being operated by Apple under the codename "Innsbruck." The interface will feature an all-new icon set for Apple's native apps and will also have newly designed tool bars and tab bars.

Apple is also planning to add more at-a-glance information to iOS, according to 9to5Mac. However, the company's goal is to make changes while keeping the system easy to use for less tech-savvy owners. New panels and swipes from the left and the right that are similar to the current Notification center could also show up on iOS 7.

The software could begin rolling out as early as June and will launch alongside the iPhone 5S.
