iOS 8 Beta 3 Download Now Available to Developers
The iOS 8 beta 3 download is now available for developers.
The latest software hit Apple devices yesterday and comes just three weeks after the second version. Its build number is 12A318c and it can be downloaded through the company's over-the-air updating system or through the iOS Dev Center.
The update brings several changes including a new version of Find My Friends, a new Apple TV beta, and updates to Swift. It also comes with improved integration with OS X through Continuity, a Health app, Family Sharing features, interactive notifications, a new QuickType Keyboard and improvements to several apps such as Safari, Mail and Messages.
Several tweaks have been made to the operating system in the new beta as there are new options for iCloud Drive, a new Settings toggle for Handoff, and a new option to enable or disable QuickType. The weather app and some new wallpapers are also available.
iCloud Drive can be downloaded through a new popup window in beta 3 and the latest version of Find My Friends allows users to move their friends list to their iCloud account.
The iOS 8 beta 3 was originally expected to launch on Tuesday, July 8, but actually ended up on the device one day sooner. It is only available to developers at this time and will be released to the public sometime in the fall of this year. New major software updates from Apple normally roll out at the same time as the new iPhone model.
The upcoming iPhone 6 is expected to be released in September. iOS 8 will be officially introduced through that device. Apple first introduced the software during WWDC earlier this year. It will be available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch lines when it finally launches.
