iOS 8 News: Apple Withdraws Software After Users Report Massive Problems Caused by iOS 8 Update

In an attempt to fix certain issues that users of Apple devices have encountered upon installing the new iOS 8, Apple has responded by providing the software update yesterday, in hopes that it would put an end to all the technical problems that have been reported.

The Cupertino-based company said that the update was meant to fix problems with iOS 8, such as an issue that could cause unexpected data usage when receiving a text message, and another one that prevented some apps from accessing photos on the iPad or iPhone's files.

However, Apple has been forced to withdraw the new iOS 8 update several hours after it has been released as iPhone owners complained that it is blocking calls.

Twitter and Apple chatrooms were flooded by people complaining on the update, called the iOS 8.0.1, and they all said that their phones are unable to make phone calls and it even caused problems with the Touch ID fingerprint facility, which was designed so that users could unlock their phones with their fingerprint.

"We have a workaround for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 users who lost cellular service and Touch ID functionality today after updating to iOS 8.0.1," Apple said. "We apologize for the great inconvenience experienced by users, and we are working around the clock to prepare iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it is ready in the next few days."

Apple has had a host of problems to deal with since launching the iOS 8 this month, as users complained of the large storage needed to install the software, as well as an issue that made the battery drain faster upon installation. Recently, the company has also been bombarded with reports that the newly released iPhone 6 Plus is susceptible to being bent after being placed in users' pockets.
