iPad Air 2 News: Tablet to Be Released in October 2014?
With the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and Apple Watch being released this month, fans of Apple are now looking forward to the debut of the latest tablets from the company. One device that fans are eagerly anticipating is the iPad Air 2.
The follow up to the iPad Air is expected to be thinner and slightly lighter than its predecessor. The screen size is unlikely to change, meaning that it will remain at 9.7 inches and with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. The main camera is rumored to be upgraded from 5MP to 8MP.
Not much has been revealed about the tablet's features, but KGI analyst Ming Chi-Kuo believes that it will be equipped with an Apple A8 processor, a 1.5 MP front camera, and a Touch ID feature similar to that of the iPhone 5S. The tablet will reportedly have an "anti-reflection coating" which will make it easier to read even under harsh lighting conditions.
As for the launch date, the Daily Dot reports that the iPad Air 2 will be introduced at an event on Oct. 21. Though Apple has not confirmed this, the company has been very consistent when it comes to the release date of its products, and the 21st marks a whole year since new iPads have been released.
If the launch happens on the aforementioned date, fans can expect the new iPad Air 2 to be available 10 days later, which will fall exactly on Halloween, Oct. 31. The new tablet is rumored to be priced at around $500, and will be available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB.
