iPad Mini 3 Unveiling at Apple Press Conference Oct. 16?
Apple's Press Conference on Oct. 16 might be it's unveiling of the iPad Mini 3 and the iPad Air 2, along with extras such as the OS X Yosemite and some others. Invites have already gone out for the event and as the iPad Mini 2 nears its first birthday, it only makes more sense that the press conference will unveil the iPad Mini 3 at least.
Technically, the iPad Mini 3 might not be called as such as the iPad Mini 2 was the iPad Mini with Retina display so as far as naming goes, Apple could be naming it anything. Still, the speculations stand that the iPad Mini 3 is set to be unveiled during the press conference later this month.
Design-wise, there have been rumors that the iPad Mini 3 will be called the iPad Mini Air. There are also speculations that an iPhone Air is also coming. The rumors are based off the leaks that the iPad Mini 3's design profile is about 30-percent thinner than the iPad Mini with Retina display.
Spec-wise, there isn't much to go with but the iPad Mini 3 will likely sport the new 64-bit chips and the TouchID sensor that the iPhone 6 has. The 7.9-inch display size is likely to stay much like its predecessor as well as its display resolution. The iPad Mini 3 will also likely go in four storage options – 16GB through 128GB – much like the iPad Mini 2.
There are also rumors that the iPad Mini 3 will be getting an 8-megapixel iSight camera.
Apart from the already present speculations on the Web, there isn't much to go on and only Apple will be able to answer any questions regarding the iPad Mini 3's design and specifications.
