iPad Mini 5 Rumors 2017: New Tablet to Launch at Apple Event in April?

There has been a lot of talk surrounding Apple's iPad Mini lineup, from rumors of getting discontinued to being revamped into the iPad Pro Mini. Now, a new report claims that the grand unveiling of the tablet will take place on April 4 at the 1000-seater Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park.

According to Apple World Today, there is reason to believe that the iPad Mini 5, or iPad Pro Mini, will be revealed at an Apple event at the soon-to-open Apple Park. The website points out that Apple CEO Tim Cook previously said that there would be no more Apple events held at 1 Infinite Loop, lending credence to this theory.

Additionally, a number of retailers have already slashed their prices on current iPad offerings, which is usually a sign that a new model is coming out.

Speculations are also rife that the iPad Mini lineup will undergo a significant change, especially when it comes to its branding. As previously reported, rumor has it that the iPad Pro series could absorb the iPad Mini series completely, which means the iPad Mini 5 could very well be the 7.9-inch iPad Pro Mini that has been making rounds online.

The upcoming 7.9-inch iPad is rumored to have four speakers, quad microphones, a True Tone display, a Smart Connector, a 12 MP rear camera with iSight and True Tone flash. It is also expected to include a fingerprint scanner, which has become a standard with all of Apple's offerings.

Apart from the iPad Mini 5, or iPad Pro Mini, there are three other iPad Pro models expected to come out on April 4. There is a 9.7-inch model, a 10.5-inch model and a 12.9-inch model. The 9.7-inch version is believed to be replacing the iPad Air 2.

It is important to keep in mind that these are all rumors as of this time, so readers are advised to take this news with a grain of salt.
