iPad Mini Keyboard Released by Belkin and iPadMiniMod
An iPad Mini keyboard accessory was released by Belkin and iPadMiniMod.
Belkin's keyboard retails for $80 and connects to the tablet with using Bluetooth. It also features a removable keyboard with shortcut keys to play or pause music, or change tracks.
iPad Mini Mod's keyboard is half the price at $40 and is made from aluminum. It also connects to the tablet using Bluetooth and uses Smart Cover magnets to turn the iPad on when the case is opened. It will come in both black and silver to match the colors the iPad Mini is currently available in.
Apple manufacturers are already reporting that the company is planning to launch a second generation iPad Mini with Retina display.
The Chinese company AU Optronics has stated that it will begin producing these Retina iPad Mini models in the second half of 2013.
These new iPad Mini models will feature a display with 2048 x 1536 resolution, measuring in at 7.9-inches.
In other iPad Mini news, Apple has created a new video ad for the iPad Mini that displays a user playing with his GarageBand application.
It appears that he has turned his entire tablet into a full-fledged keyboard and plays out the melody to "Heart and Soul."
The user starts out playing on a full-sized iPad in his left hand and moves on to iPad Mini on his right hand.
Apple unveiled the shrunken down iPad at a special media event last month, where the company also introduced the public to the fourth-generation iPad.
The iPad Mini features a 7.9-inch 1024 x 768 display, making it slightly larger than many small tablet competitors, such as the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD.
Other specifications on the iPad Mini include 4G LTE connectivity, a dual-core A5 chipset, front Facetime camera, rear 5-megapixel camera, a Lightning connector, and a battery capable of lasting up to 10 hours.
