iPad Pro 2 May Not Be Released Until Autumn

Apple announced its plans to launch a 9.7-inch iPad this year but is still keeping mum about a possible iPad Pro 2 release. Will the rumored tablet, which has been the subject of many speculations of late, finally see the light of day?

According to Trusted Reviews, it has become hard to predict a possible release date for the iPad Pro 2 owing to Apple's inconsistent release history when it comes to their tablets. And since previous rumors pointing to a potential 2017 launch may have been referring to the newly announced 9.7-inch iPad with A9 chip and Retina display, gadget enthusiasts are again left wondering when the iPad Pro 2 will be unveiled.

The rumored event on April 4 is the next best bet to expect for an iPad Pro 2 announcement. Apple has not yet released any official statement about the purported event, which would've coincided with the grand opening of the 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater at the new Apple Park campus.

This date, however, seems a little too soon to be launching another iPad and reports believe that a more likely release date for the iPad Pro 2 would be around autumn.

As for its rumored specifications, a concept video has been released online featuring a conceptualized image of the rumored 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2 with 4K screen and a dual-lens rear-facing camera. The tablet is also expected to come in six colors: white, purple, black, jet black, gold and rose gold.

The tablet is rumored to come with the usual features like the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and the 3D Touch display, and could also finally be scrapping the Home button in order to decrease the size of the tablet's bezels. The Home button is expected to be embedded into the display screen instead.

Apple is also believed to be working on a new A10X chip for the iPad Pro 2, which will feature the A10 'Fusion' chip. It is the first chip to have both high-power and low-power cores, which could effectively prolong battery life without compromising the tablet's performance.

Since no official announcement has been made regarding the rumored iPad Pro 2, speculations and rumors about its features should be taken with a pinch of salt.
