iPad Pro Release Date Expected Q3 2014

The iPad Pro 12.9-inch model is now rumored to be released in Q3 2014. Apple is reportedly speeding up the development and production of this tablet after Samsung debuted is new Galaxy TabPRO line earlier this month that features the high end 12.2-inch model and Galaxy NotePRO line that features another slate at this size.

This information derived from a Digitimes report which is a publication that can be somewhat unreliable at times. Apple's moves in the past prove that the company does not release devices based on what the competition is putting out.

The iPad Mini is a great example of this as the smaller tablet wasn't released until almost two years after the low-end tablet market exploded in 2011/12.

And without an adequate amount of part leaks it is tough to say that a device such as the iPad Pro has entered into production or is in the late development phases.

The iPad Pro is rumored to feature a 12-inch Retina display that will have a resolution of 2732x2048 at 265 ppi which will be a bit more impressive than the screens found on Samsung's new Galaxy Tab Pro and Note Pro tablets. Those models have a display with 2560x1600 resolution at 247 ppi.

It could also be a hybrid device that functions both as a laptop and a tablet making it similar to the Surface Pro and other products currently available on the market.

Digitimes also reported that Apple is working on new 7.9-inch and 9.7-inch models to replace the current Retina iPad mini and iPad Air models. These are also expected to debut in Q3 2014 which would keep with Apple's current fall release schedule. The iPad is expected to sell between 80 and 90 million units over the course of this year.
