iPad Pro Rumors: Apple May Announce 12.9-Inch Tablet on September 9

In the run up to the Apple September 9 event in San Francisco, several reports and rumors have once again come out about what else to expect when Apple takes to the stage again in a few days. People are already expecting that Apple will announce their new line of iPhones, a brand new Apple TV, a new iPad mini 4, and Apple Watch Sports bands during the event. If reports are true, according to Tech Times, a new 12.9-inch tablet called the iPad Pro may be unveiled during the event as well.

The Tech Times report cited that its source, 9to5Mac, reported that the 12.9-inch tablet follows the design of the iPad Air and will have thin bezels. Its display is rumored to have a resolution of 2,732 x 2,048 pixels. It will be built with an aluminum shell, much like the other iPads, but will essentially look like a bigger iPad. It will also be equipped with two cameras, one for FaceTime and one for iSight.

As Apple is also releasing an iPhone with Force Touch Display technology, the iPad Pro will come with this feature as well. It is also reported that the iPad Pro will come with a stylus, out of the box. According to the 9to5Mac report, it is not going to be an ordinary stylus, as it will be one that will be made to work well with the Force Touch screen in order to bring better drawing and design controls with the new iPad.

Other rumored technical specifications include a faster A9 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM and USB 3.0 ports. It will also come in storage variants, ranging from 64GB to 512GB. Its operating system is rumored to be the upcoming iOS 9.1.

In another report in Forbes, it was also reported that the iPad Pro may just be announced on September 9, but its availability may be pushed out to the next month. Traditionally, Apple introduces its new iPads in October of each year so it may still want to have a special iPad event in October so that they can include new accessories and new apps for the iPad Pro.
