iPhone 4S Battery Life: Smartphone Owners Wonder Why Apple Is 'Ignoring' Complaints
Less than three weeks after Apple's new iPhone 4S went on sale in the United States, it has already experienced a massive number of complaints about the phone's poor battery life. Some smartphone owners have compared the battery issues to the reception problems with the iPhone 4, and attacked Apple for not reacting to the issue.
The new device should theoretically deliver 8 hours of 3G talk time, 6 hours of Web browsing, 10 hours of video playback, and 40 hours of music playback. Yet one quick look at the Apple website's support forum reveals thousands of iPhone 4S users dissatisfied with their phone's battery life, with over 170 pages of questions, speculations and theories regarding the problem.
Many iPhone 4S users are saying that the battery of the new iPhone 4S is simply "terrible." Meanwhile, some experts and iPhone fans across the vivid online tech community have been trying to figure out how to solve the problem and extend the life of your new iPhone's battery.
"On paper, the new phone beats out its predecessor by one hour of 3G talk time, yet falls 100 hours shorter when it comes to standby - the time a phone will continue to run when not being used for phone calls or other functions," CNET wrote.
Many publications, including CNET, have criticized Apple for not directly responding to the issue. Some iPhone 4S owners have suggested that silence is the company's usual initial response to mass complaints about problems with a new iPhone.
In a recent article, CP gathered together some recommendations for dealing with the battery problem that tech experts across the online community have been shooting out.
