iPhone 4S Release Date: Big Decrease in Trade-In Prices for iPhone 4
In anticipation for Apple's new "iPhone 4S" smartphone model, resale and trade buy-back prices are dropping for the "iPhone 4."
Online electronics retailer NextWorth previously offered users up to $250 for their "iPhone 4" up until the day before the "iPhone 4S" was announced. Now that amount has decreased to $200 for a 16GB "iPhone 4" in “good" condition and $215 for a 32GB model.
Some Target retail stores are also working in conjunction with NextWorth. They are offering trade-in's and also allowing customers to get a guaranteed price for their old "iPhone 3GS" and "iPhone 4S."
eBay and its instant sale offers amounts have also lessened. Users who sell back their old 16GB "iPhone 4" will now get a maximum price of $178.50. The previous buy-back price came in at $307.54.
BuyMyTronics is now buying back the "iPhone 4" at a maximum of $200, if it’s in “good” condition. They had offered up to $200 for a 16GB "iPhone 4" last week.
Gazelle, another electronics retailer, is now giving users $222 for a “flawless” 32GB "iPhone 4" and $200 for a 16GB version in the same condition. The company previously offered its customers $250 for the 32GB version and $225 for the 16GB edition.
This company defines a "flawless" iPhone as one that "still looks and functions like you just removed it from factory packaging" with a screen that is "absolutely pristine."
Gazelle has said that the 9 out of 10 "iPhones" it receives are in "good condition," a state that allows for some "scratches, scuffs, or nicks" on the body and light scratches on the display. Gazelle will give a price-lock guarantee that lasts for 30 days after users agree to the trade-in prices.
Users can also take to craigslist.org and sell back their "iPhones" at their own prices.
Users should hurry and sell back their old Apple smartphone models before the "iPhone 4S" becomes available this Friday. The trade-in prices will surely drop once this smartphone finally hits stores.
