iPhone 5 Release Date: Can the iPhone 4S Live Up to the Hype?
Die-hard Apple fans anxiously awaited the revelation of a new iPhone yesterday, but much to Apple fans dismay at Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event a new phone was released, but it was not an iPhone 5.
Apple instead released an iPhone 4S.
The 4S looks exactly like the iPhone 4 on the outer shell. However, from the inside the phone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera, a faster downloading speed, and it comes with Siri, a personal assistant software.
The software can remind iPhone 4S users to call someone, find a reservation for a restaurant, search for information, and can even text message or call people by name.
The phone also offers over 200 more features that the iPhone 4 did not have.
Furthermore, the battery life of the phone will last around 8 hours of talk over 3G, 14 hours over 2G, and with web browsing one will get 3G of 6 hours of battery life.
Even though the phone offers Siri and better specs, it seems as though many feel that the unveiling of the new phone did not live up to the hype that came before it.
Apples describes the new iPhone as “the most amazing iPhone yet.” Yet, it is not the next generation phone that consumers where anticipating.
The iPhone 4 has been the bestselling iPhone so far and has sold more units than all the other various versions of the iPhone combined.
However, as the new iPhone is an merely an evolution from the iPhone 4 and not a revolution in new generation phone technology, it remains to be seen if the phone will live up to Apple’s expectations on the marketplace.
The phone will officially come onto the market on October 14th and will be starting at $199.
