iPhone 5 Release Date Days After Apple's Oct. 4 Event
Reports suggest that Apple is set to unveil the latest model of the iPhone at their next media conference on October 4th with the release date soon to follow.
AllThingsDigital.com received this information from several unnamed sources on the matter. They released details on Apple's plans to also make the iPhone 5 available at nationwide retailers within weeks of the media event announcement. However, no news has come to light on plans for the often rumored iPhone 4S, a much cheaper version of the current iPhone model.
The iPhone 5 release date on Verizon and AT&T has been rumored to take place in mid-October. But the release date for iPhone 5 will not take place in 2011 for T-Mobile. TmoNews blog obtained a leaked document from the T-Mobile's chief marketing officer, Cole Brodman, saying the carrier would not be getting Apple’s new device in 2011.
Several rumors have surfaced about the iPhone 5's expected features, improvements and impending release date for months now. Manufacturer Foxconn is reportedly making at least 150,000 copies of the iPhone 5 model daily. Accessory-making company Case Mate is in the process of creating the very first line of iPhone 5 protective cases.
Brand new CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, is expected to handle the media event and perform his first exciting product introduction. Many investors are also expected to be in attendance along with the public, so that they can get their first impressions of the man who will now be handling Apple's most important decisions.
Apple's previous CEO, Steve Jobs, was well known for being the face of the large-scale Cupertino, California company. His departure from Apple sparked fear in investors who felt his absence would initiate several negative changes to the company.
Apple may change its plans at any time, but as of now these rumors are persistent throughout the technology community.
