iPhone 5 Release Date Event: White 64GB iPod Touch Announced
Apple has announced the release of the upcoming new white iPod Touch models.
Phil Schiller, the senior Vice President of worldwide product marketing, touched on the new version of the device which he said is the most popular portable game player in the world, which will now come in white.
The new white iPod Touch will hit stores on October 12.
The 64GB version will be priced at $399, the 32GB version at $199, and the 8GB version will go for $199.
The white version of the iPod Touch popped up in the company’s inventory system recently and has been rumored to be coming out for quite some time now.
Along with the release of the long awaited iPhone 4S, the new iPod Touch models will also be able to run the company’s new operating system iOS 5.
It was also rumored that Apple was planning to discontinue the iPod classic, but no announcements were made at the event regarding that happening.
iTunes Match is also available to use with the device.
The service scans user’s music libraries in order to make it available to them on all of their iOS devices.
Apple will offer iTunes Match for $24.99 a year.
With iOS 5 and iCloud, the iPod Touch will receive tremendous upgrades, according to Schiller.
The VP of marketing added that this line up of iPod Touches is the best one to date.
