iPhone 5 Release Date: LIVE – Apple Announces New Powerful iPod Nano, iPhone 4S Coming Soon
In Tuesday's Apple iPhone conference hosted by new CEO Tim Cook, he spoke on the new changes being made for the iPod Nano and iTunes. He also introduced the long awaited iPhone 4S.
Cook announced that the new iPod Nano is a fitness machine letting you track your runs right out of the box.
It will feature 16 new clock faces and bigger icons. It will also come in seven different colors with an 8GB costing $129 and a 16GB for $149 – both available as of today.
The iPod Touch is now in white and will be $199.
"Only 10 years ago we launched iPod on this very stage. Since then 300 million iPods have been around the world; last year 45 million. In context Sony sold 230 million Walkmen in 30 years," Cook boldly stated at the conference.
Since that initial launch, Apple has seen iTunes grow from 200,000 songs to almost 100 times that.
"#1 music store in the world," continued Cook.
Coming next for Cook was the announcement for much anticipated iPhone 4S previously touted to be the iPhone 5. However, the full details are still emerging for this new device, which is expected to be the bestselling iPhone ever.
The iPhone event is still ongoing with more info being leaked gradually.
