iPhone 5 Release Date: Network Boss Leaks Launch Date
It seems as though Apple's iPhone 5 will drop in the U.S. on October 7, after the boss of European carrier Orange accidently disclosed the date the next generation iPhone would become available.
Orange’s Stephane Richard explained that the iPhone 5 would be released in France and throughout Europe on October 15. This has caused experts to infer that the device will become available on October 7, as Apple typically releases its latest products in the United States a week prior to making them available in Europe.
Although Apple has yet to confirm any details about the new iPhone 5, it is widely expected now that the device will be released on that date along with a budget version iPhone 4.
The latest information generally matches a number of other rumors currently circulating about the new iPhone 5. Commentators have said that the iPhone 5 has already been assembled, and stocks are awaiting the final software in China.
Other rumors have also stated that the iPhone 5 will implement flash, unlike the iPhone 4, and that it will look similar to the iPad. The phone will be slimmer than the current iPhone, and will sport round edges, according to alleged leaks.
Apple followers also can expect the new iPhone 5 to have a chrome backing for the first time.
