iPhone 5 Release Date: Release Date Schedule From February to Fall 2012
The potential time date release for Apple's often-rumored iPhone 5 stretches from February to fall 2012.
February 2012 may be a candidate for the iPhone 5 launch, but not likely. If Apple has already finished the production of its new smartphone, then the iPhone 5 could see a winter launch. One-factor makes this rumored launch date unlikely: the iPhone 4S.
The sales of Apple's iPhone 4S have been phenomenal for the company thus far. If Apple were to introduce the iPhone 5 only a scant few months after the iPhone 4S, this would surely upset customers who already purchased the previous iPhone.
March 2012 is pegged as the official launch of Apple's iPad 3, so simultaneously launching another device might disrupt sales.
April 2012 is another potential launch month for the iPhone 5. By this time, Apple consumers may tire of the iPhone 4S and be ready for another improved model. However, this might slow down the sales of the iPhone 4S.
The original launch window for the previous iPhones fell in the summer, unlike the iPhone 4S’s October debut.
The fall remainder of 2012 could provide a better time for the unveiling of Apple's iPhone 5. The company could also be working on a new version of its operating system, which would presumably grace the iPhone 5 as well.
A rumored iPhone model with LTE technology is also said to be arriving in 2012 for Sprint. Some have said this LTE-powered device could be an improved iPhone 4S or the new iPhone 5 altogether.
Digitimes, a technology website, reported that Apple and other smartphone manufacturers like Nokia, Research in Motion and Sony Ericsson are scheduled to join the LTE line up next year.
The pricing structures of the iPhone 4S models are sure to decrease should the device become Apple's main smartphone model.
