iPhone 5 Release Date: What to Expect From 'Let’s Talk iPhone' Apple Event
The time for the next generation iPhone to be unveiled is almost here as Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” media event is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
The showcase will take place at the company’s Cupertino California Campus and will finally give insight into Apple’s plans for its next smartphone.
Rumors surrounding the smartphone have been hitting the Internet since early summer, claiming that Apple was introducing a drastically redesigned iPhone 5.
This new Apple smartphone is expected to sport a teardrop, thin, tapered look similar to the iPod Touch.
Various accessory manufacturers have already produced thousands of silicon cases for the rumored device, which most analysts are predicting will not be unveiled at the event.
Another source close to tech site 9to5Mac revealed that these cases were being produced and designed based on an actual iPhone 5 prototype that went missing in the Shenzhen district of China.
The prototype consisted of iPhone 5 guts stuffed into an iPhone 4’s body.
Based on the insides of the prototype, Chinese manufacturers created the new cases, which show a drastically new iPhone design.
This new iPhone design also allows the device to sport a larger screen in order to compete with Android, which carries a number of devices with longer and wider displays than Apple.
Along with a better display, the next generation iPhone is also expected to include an 8-megapixel camera capable of shooting video in 1080p.
Some of the cases created for the device have already been shipped to AT&T retail locations.
The smartphone should be lighter and have a wider home button, according to designs.
According to 9to5Mac, there still isn’t enough evidence for consumers to expect a drastically changed iPhone will be unveiled.
It is more likely the iPhone 4S, or updated iPhone 4, will be the company’s new smartphone.
