iPhone 5 Resembles Samsung Galaxy S2 in New Design Renderings
A thinner frame and larger display are characteristics that seem to be common on all the newest Android powered handsets including the Motorola Droid Razr and Samsung Galaxy S2.
Could Apple follow in the footsteps of those electronics companies with the next-generation iPhone? Rumors have been spreading since the middle of 2011 stating that there would be an iPhone that would sport a design similar to those devices, but when the iPhone 4S launched in Oct. with the same look as the 4, Apple fans were left disappoint.
But some designers have not given up on that idea. ADR Studio’s Antonio De Rosa seems to have drawn up yet another design concept for the next-gen Apple handset that could possibly be named the iPhone 5. And his rendering for the device bears a striking resemblance to some of the most popular Android handsets such as the Motorola Droid Razr, Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

De Rosa named this new design the iPhone SJ after the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. He also included some proposed specifications for the device such as a totally glass capacitive screen, a polycarbonate lightweight body, a 10-megapixel camera and an A6 dual-core processor. However, the new iPhone has been rumored to have a quad-core processor.
The mockup features the iPhone SJ sporting a slimmer design and a slightly rounded edge similar to the look of the Samsung Galaxy S2. The S2 is one of the lightest smartphones on the market while the iPhone 4 and 4S still sport a thicker body and weigh almost twice as much.
Apple seems to be comfortable in its lane so there is the possibility of the company going with a design completely different from what is expected by the mainstream. However, De Rosa’s renderings are still impressive and would make for a beautiful device.
