iPhone 5se Rumor: An iPhone 6 Disguised as an iPhone 5s Body?
Due to the lukewarm response from consumers after the company released its bigger-screen versions of the iPhone via the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, rumor has it that Apple is reverting back to its four-inch screen iPhone, reportedly to be labelled as the iPhone 5se. According to Inquisitr, the upcoming iPhone device is more of an improved version of the iPhone 5s, and "se" stands for "special edition."
While there are rumors saying that the phone will be labelled as iPhone 6 mini or iPhone 6C,Inquisitr opines that 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman's label to it carries more weight in terms of possibility, pointing out that the guy is trusted by the people from the tech community because of his credibility in terms of his claims.
According to reports, the iPhone 5se will be packed with the capabilities of an iPhone 6 and garbed in an iPhone 5's body. The upcoming device is alleged to carry N69 as its international codename.
Apart from reverting back to a four-inch screen, the upcoming and rumored iPhone 5se will reportedly have a faster processor, Apple Pay, and curved glass edges. It is also reported that it will likely come in variants carrying the A9 and M9 chips.
Other speculated features of the iPhone 5se are its capacity to support larger panoramas and autofocus for video recording, a barometer for tracking elevation via its Health app, Bluetooth 4.2, VoLTE, and 802.11ac WiFi chips from the iPhone 6s, and Live Photos also from the iPhone 6s. Its camera will reportedly maintain iPhone 6's 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera systems.
While it is true that one of the major considerations that people have these days when buying a smartphone device is the size of the screen, it seems that iPhone users don't share the sentiments of those who opt for other brands. Although there is a possibility that the price tag which the iPhone 6 line carries can be a deciding factor, Mac World opines that it is more likely that the bigger screen size iPhones just didn't land in the good graces of its users.
Inquisitr reported that Apple's Tim Cook revealed via an earnings call that an estimated 60 percent of iPhone users are still to avail themselves of the bigger-screen iPhones. With this, it is not really surprising if the alleged iPhone 5se is unveiled in the market next month or mid-April, if reports are to be believed.
