iPhone 6, iPhone 5S Low-Cost Model Features Detailed in New Video
A new video has been released that details what can be expected on the new low-cost iPhone model based on the recently leaked plastic back shell.
The new clip was posted by DetroitBORG and shows the new rear shell of the plastic iPhone, a device expected to replace the iPhone 4 and 4S models in the near future.
During the video, DetroitBORG's Mike examines the various features on the rear shell and speculates on what features the new model will have when it finally makes it to the market. He also compares it to past iPhone models including the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 5 along with the similar fifth-generation iPod Touch. The shell is around the same size as the iPhone 5.
The low-cost iPhone 6 or 5S model has surfaced last week in a new picture donning a plastic yellow casing.
The new device is seen alongside the iPhone 5 in pictures posted this week by the Japanese magazine ASCII. The design shows a screw hole layout that is consistent with some of the leaked iPhone 5S logic boards. This shows that both the high-end and low-cost new iPhone models will feature similar logic board designs.
There is no way to confirm if this rear shell is actually legitimate. However, it seems to have a similar appearance to some of the other ones that were leaked in recent weeks. They could end up being unauthorized replacement parts created from third-party companies since they are appearing in high quantities and have been standardized around one common design that matches up to many of the recent rumors concerning the smartphone.
The new iPhones releases have reportedly been pushed back to the end of the year due to issues with their displays.
Apple decided to enlarge the screen on the device to 4.3-inches, according to a new Bloomberg report, and this has caused production delays. The next-generation Apple smartphone, which could be either the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, will now debut at the end of the year instead of the originally expected fall launch date.
