iPhone 6 Rumors: Apple Confirms Release Date for Sept. 10

Many of the recent iPhone 6 or 5S release date rumors have been confirmed as Apple sent out invites for the unveiling event that is scheduled for Sept. 10.

The invitations were sent out to various technology outlets that will cover the introduction of the company's latest handsets and tablets that could include the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 5C, fifth-generation iPad, and iPad mini 2.

The invite reads "This should brighten everyone's day," and is full of colored circles with an Apple symbol in the middle. It is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. Pacific Time and will be held at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, Calif.

This Sept. 10 event was rumored to be taking place for quite some time. The first media outlet to report this was AllThingsD, who did so last month.

Most of these outlets believe that Apple will unveil both the next-generation iPhone 5S or 6 and the new plastic low-cost iPhone 5C model. Bloomberg issued a report last week that stated that Apple plans to introduce its new line of tablets at the event as well that includes the fifth-generation iPad and iPad mini 2.

Apple's new iOS 7 software will also begin rolling out shortly after the event.

The next-generation iPhone is expected to feature almost the same design as the current model and will pack a more powerful processor along with a fingerprint sensor and dual-flash camera capabilities.

The iPhone 5C will feature slightly less impressive specs and sports a plastic exterior that will come in various colors including yellow, blue, green and pink.

The fifth-generation iPad will come with a redesigned body that makes it similar to the current iPad mini and the next-gen smaller version will come with a high-res retina display.
