iPhone 6 Rumors: Device to Come in Gold and to Pack 128GB Memory (PICTURE)

The latest iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S rumors state that the new device will be available in gold casing with 128GB storage.

This news was revealed in a new research note by KGI Securities analyst Mini-Chi Kuo who has been a reliable source for information in the past concerning Apple products.

"We also forecast the new model will add a new look, a golden casing, and a new option of larger 128GB storage, to offer greater differentiation from iPhone 5," said Kuo.

This is not the first time a gold or champagne colored iPhone 6 or 5S has been mentioned in a report as a possibility for the company. However, Kuo is probably the most reliable source to state this thus far.

He also touched other hardware as he believes the device's A7 chip will upgrade memory bandwidth spec to LPDDR3 from LPDDR2 in hopes of improving performance. Apple has the ability to use less memory since it controls both the hardware and software design for its device. This will allow it to still run just 1GB of RAM efficiently, according to Kuo.

Kuo issued a research note last week that points to the next-gen iPhone coming with a sapphire home button and fingerprint sensor.

He describes it as a convex shaped button that will give Apple more space to fit the fingerprint sensor on the device.

"Convex home button creates space for fingerprint sensor; yield to improve," wrote Kuo in the report. "We think that a fingerprint sensor will be placed under the home button of the iPhone 5S [or iPhone 6]."

Apple will use sapphire for the home button in order to prevent it from becoming scratched or damaged as a convex shaped button will not be as durable as what is found on the current iPhone models.

"A convex home button could be more easily scratched, so a harder material is required," continued Kuo. "We believe Apple will switch from plastic to sapphire, whose hardness is second only to diamond."

Sapphire will also prevent the fingerprint sensor from being scratched, according to the report.
