iPhone 6 Rumors: iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 to Be Unveiled With New Smartphone
The iPhone 6 rumors have slowed down a bit since Apple sent out the invites to its unveiling event for the smartphone, but the silence has brought about some more information on the company's upcoming tablets.
Both the iPad mini 2 and fifth-generation model are expected to launch in Q4 2013, according to a research report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In order, for those tabs to drop during the time, Apple will need to unveil them very soon. And with a major media event coming in just 5 days, it is safe to say that the first appearance of these devices could be taking place very soon.
Kuo also claims that Apple will release another low-cost iPad mini at the beginning of 2013. This model will use the A6 chip found in the iPhone 5.
Apple sent out invites to this media event earlier this week.
The invite reads "This should brighten everyone's day," and is full of colored circles with an Apple symbol in the middle. It is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. Pacific Time and will be held at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, Calif.
This Sept. 10 event was rumored to be taking place for quite some time. The first media outlet to report this was AllThingsD, who did so last month.
The next-generation iPhone is expected to feature almost the same design as the current model and will pack a more powerful processor along with a fingerprint sensor and dual-flash camera capabilities.
The iPhone 5C will feature slightly less impressive specs and sports a plastic exterior that will come in various colors including yellow, blue, green and pink.
The fifth-generation iPad will come with a redesigned body that makes it similar to the current iPad mini and the next-gen smaller version will come with a high-res retina display.
